17/5/2006, Haifa One hundred years after Jules Verne- and his stories seems to be a reality. The internet revolution gave us new chances for information and adventures on the net and communities has been established using this virtual space for new entities. An Israeli group of artists which communicate through the Art Forum of YNET Portal, was invited by one of its members, Eden Orion, to create special exhibition about Jules Verne's heritage. The University of Haifa, Israel, where he is functioning as the Media department manager, organized an interdisciplinary conference "A scientific literary journey with Jules Verne" and he invited the forum's members to take an action and use their creativity to make a special exhibition which will be part of this conference. The works deals with a variety of subjects- such as Jules Verne's ideas of technology, his character, fantasy views etc. The opening of this exhibition was held on 17/5/2006 with the presence of the YNET forum members- who step out of the net to the real floor of the Haifa University. Ayelet Amit, a member of this site, is the Manager of this internet forum and took part in this project. __________________________________ The exhibition site- made by Eden Orion: multimedia.haifa.ac.il/verne/ For further information: amit-ay@012.net.il |
