The Festival of Choreographic Miniatures is an international competition of choreographers, founded in 1996. It is organized by Association of Ballet Artists of Serbia and held annually at the National Theater, Belgrade, on May 12th-14th.

The final selection takes place on May 10th and the Competition Evening is scheduled for May 12th. On May 13th and 14th Festival presents international and national performances.

Mission of the Festival of the Choreographic Miniatures is to promote contemporary dance in a wide range of styles and to introduce to the wider audience and professionals the current and up-coming choreographic trends.

Prizes:
1st Prize :: UniCredit Bank Award in the amount of €3000 and a production for the Belgrade Summer Festival 2009.
2nd Prize :: UniCredit Bank Award in the amount of €2000
3rd Prize :: UniCredit Bank Award in the amount of €1000

The founders of the Festival of Choreographic Miniatures are the Association of Ballet Artists of Serbia and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, with big financial support of the City Secretariat for Culture of the City of Belgrade and 10 years of warm hospitality by the National Theater, Belgrade.

Conditions of entry ::

Competition requirements: Maximum length for the choreography is 10 minutes and must be premiered at the Festival.

Application form must be completed and sent via email. Complete application, consisted of filled application form and a recording of the choreographic work, must be sent via regular post and reach the organizers by 30th March 2008.
The video (VHS, DVX, DV, DVD) must only contain the choreography to be presented at the Festival.

Receipt of your application will be acknowledged by email.

Admission to the competition will be decided by a pre-jury and the applicants will be informed by April 10th, 2008.

Video materials will not be returned to the applicants.

Each choreographer must have copyrights regulated beforehand for all segments of the choreographic miniature, which are not his or her own creation (music, costume, and so on). In the case of any copyright infringement, all responsibility is to be borne by the choreographer-author.

The Final Selection will be held before the jury on May 10th, 2008. in the ballet studio of the National Theatre.

Technical Rehearsals will be held on May 11th, 2008.
All competitors will have up to 30 minutes for set and rehearsal.

Selection takes place at the ballet studio of the National Theatre equiped with working lights, audio and video devices.

Competition takes place at the main stage of the National Theatre

Stage dimensions: 12 m width, 12 m+ depth

The Festival Directorate provides hotel accommodation, which includes overnight stay with breakfast, for all competitors who qualify for the Final Selection and live more than 100 km away from Belgrade.
