02. sep. - 10. okt. 2008. Slicing through the fabric of tradition “Don’t miss this ballet experience! Hurry to Kongens Nytorv to buy tickets. Bring Uncle Alfred! And all your friends! New ballet-goers will benefit from starting here.†Weekendavisen Today’s most brilliant choreographer Jirà Kylián has created a magnificent ballet experience for the Old Stage – and perhaps one of the Royal Danish Theatre’s greatest successes ever. All emotions are vented in this expressive total theatre, which causes audiences and performers alike to gasp for air when the established standards for aesthetic performance are challenged and turned on their head. Practical information: the performance will be preceded by a presentation of the art installation Undergardens, which will be located below the stage. The facility is dimly lit and accessible only by steep stairways between 19:45 and 20:25. A film will be screened simultaneously in the auditorium. The foyer bar will be open until the first ballet commences at 20:45. Some waiting time may be anticipated at the entrance to the installation.
