The photo exhibition Second Cities, which presents thematically diverse photographic projects each of which deals in the manner of “subjective documentary” with 16 second cities throughout Europe, is on view through November 20 in Kosice, curated by Pavel M. Smejkal.

According to a definition, the second city of a country is the second-most important city after the capital, considering population size, economic status or cultural significance.

The images were taken by photographers who live or have for a while resided in the respective cities. The gallery exhibition is accompanied by light panels placed throughout the pedestrian zone of Kosice.
