Ceramist Charlot Cassar will be having his first solo exhibition at Del Borgo in Vittoriosa, Malta, starting February 27. Cassar has been working with clay for the past nine odd years and having participated in various collective exhibitions locally and abroad, he is now presenting his first solo collection of works - Saltpans.

The exhibition explores the rugged Maltese coastline and the artist’s fascination with wide, open, fragmented forms, sinuous lines and a palette that betrays his Mediterranean roots. A passion for blues, greens and vibrant earth colours coupled with subtle combinations of oxides, fused glass and lava present a masterful interplay of hues and textural qualities that characterises Cassar’s work.

The exhibition, open till March 26, 2006, is support by Middlesea Valletta Life, Bank of Valletta, Attard & Co. Foodstuff Ltd, Firm F. Attard and Del Borgo Wine Bar.
