June 10th - July 9th. North Atlantic House “STEINUNN” is a retrospective exhibition of the Icelandic designer Steinunn Sigurdardóttir works, showing samples of her fashion designs from the last 20 years. Through the years she has worked with many of the most famous fashion designers in the world, including Calvin Klein, Gucci, Ralph Lauren and La Perla. The exhibition consists of 12 monitors showing videos of fashion shows, the work behind the scenes, interviews, etc. Since her school years Sigurdardóttir has kept very careful track of her work, systematically collecting pictures from newspapers, videos, work sketches, material samples, etc., and it all bears witness to her productivity through the years. Furthermore two work tables are set up showing samples of material and knitting, sketches, and other things. Finally, there are samples at the exhibition of Sigurdardóttir's latest fashion line – on her own brand: “STEINUNN”, displayed on dummies and in enlarged photographs printed on cloth. Three large walls are covered with colour photocopies from fashion magazines, with pictures of the most famous models and actors in the world wearing clothes designed by Sigurdardóttir. Today Sigurdardóttirs are exclusive creations are made in her atelier in Iceland and are sold in both Europe and the United States. ______________________________ North Atlantic House Strandgade 91, 1401 CPH K Tel: 3283 3700 Fax: 3283 3701 Email: bryggen@bryggen.dk web: www.bryggen.dk |
