Galleri Christoffer Egelund, 8 March - 5 April 2008 Mikkel S. Andersen, Morten Skrøder Lund, Theis Wendt Gallery Christoffer Egelund is presenting three promising artists from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts: Mikkel S. Andersen, Morten Skrøder Lund and Theis Wendt. Using a diverse range of artistic media and widely different forms of expression, the three young artists have created an exhibition in the gallery's project room which mixes playfulness and at times tremendous intensity. Elements from our everyday lives - our surroundings - are challenged and transformed in various manners in a constant battle between fantasy and reality. In two huge drawings (230 x 240 cm) Theis Wendt displays a strangely ironic, yet recognisable universe which touches on a few notions of humans' more or less (un)adapted ways of manoeuvring with and among each other in society. Mikkel S. Andersen works around similar themes in his collages and sculptures which show us the human existence steeped in mental delusions, impassive violent behaviour and the grotesque lunacy of sarcasm and general Weltschmerz. In another artistic sphere we find Morten Skrøder Lund, who presents us with a 'semitone piece'. With his playful and curious approach the artist endeavours to explore the interplay between material and sound as a kind of low-fi soundscape in a clever installation. ____________________________ Galleri Christoffer Egelund (GCE) Bredgade 75 DK-1260 Copenhagen K T. +45 33939200 F. +45 33939398 info@egelund.dk www.gce.nu |
