On Thursday, November 23, 2006, in the Museum of Contemporary art of Republic of Srpska was opened the exhibition of academic painter Ljubomir Gajic. He graduated from the Academy of fine arts in Belgrade in the class of academician Nedeljko Gvozdenovic and Radenko Misevic. He attented post-graduate studies in sociology of culture in the class of professor Ratko Bozovic in the Faculty of political science in Belgrade. He is a full time professor of methodology of teaching at the Faculty of Philosophy in Banjaluka. The exhibition will be opened untill December 23, 2006. A new cycle of Ljubomir Gajic, the painter, confirms the old thesis that paintings are in the highest level of embodiment, particularity, life verity, but also the fact that a wise artist spares no effort in those paintings not to cross the limit of a symbol, but to stay on the pedestal of aesthetic uniqueness and “not to merge with the life as its own partsâ€.(...) (...)Dynamic balance of Gajic’s painting is provided by chromatic fields and freely drawn lines calculated that after the broken interval they optically follow. Lines are some sort of energy streams. Lines, these and of these kind, are new creative impulse in comparison to widely painted sections, which originate in the previous opus of Ljubomir Gajic. The new cycle determines itself as a tonal, with elements of light of defined paintings, with dramatic openings, sharp and calligraphic lines by which he calms down the seething structure of the base. The space, in that way, acquires an additional tension and inner motion, which cannot be stopped even after the last drawn line. Gajić was – and still is – a colourist who chooses colours, but we have the impression he hasn’t been choosing them, since each of his painting contains a whole palette of colours, which are always clean, lively, clear, strong, given on the spur of the moment. Lines are, now, poetic, temporary, they are coming one after another with virtuosity, holding on the condition of moment and giving away the impressive reflection at that moment.(...)
