Do the transitions bring any changes or anything remotely favorable to us? 2009 LIFFE Awards 20th Ljubljana Film Festival LIFFE en.liffe.si/ ended fantastic. 20 years of feature films, short films etc passed quickly in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Sonic Youth The 20th of Ljubljana International Film Festival LIFFE, by the FIPRESCI Jury Zoran Gojić, Å pela BarliÄ and Radmila Djurica decided for the International Federation of Film Critics, to go to an American film directed by Ben and Josh Safdie “Go Get Some Rosemaryâ€. “Josh and Ben Safdie brothers tell a simple story about a complicated family – which is their own. Inspired by the New York independent film tradition, it captures the hectic patchwork family life. It’s a comical drama about a man in between extremes and his confused sons. A warm-hearted look back without anger.†This is a new film inspired by New York Independent Film Production that presents the hectic NY comical and powerfully well crafted drama, about a warm giving man, thorn between his “boyish†immaturity and fatherhood. With skillful editing and dogmatic atmosphere, film reflects the irresponsible and charismatic father and in general NYstate of mind. What happens when Manhattan interferes to a family life role and constant life failures, in time between family divorced father life and petty living and when everything goes wrong? "Go Get Some Rosemary" is a realistic picture of a real life in NY. The film is about the culmination of exhaustion and demanding emotional state of mind, faithful to a New York-indie tradition of filmmaking and it gives new proportions to a film, for fans of Abel Ferrara and Lee Ranaldo from the NY band Sonic Youth. Special mention goes of course to Ranaldo's children that played a main part in this drama, with a film director and main actor of this film Ronald Bronstein. 18.
