Galeria Posibilă 7-25.03.2007 Curator: Matei Câlţia It happened two years ago, during the bi-annual Event from Istanbul, when, after two hours spent among papers, one stronger, greater and bitterer than the other, after more hours of wandering in a chaotic, but other than that, charming town, I reached Tutun Deposu, one of the six locations of the event. An old four-store deposit situated in one of the most central and poorest neighborhoods. I was to find there one of the most charming works I had ever seen before, Magical World. Fragility, intimacy, tranquility are the key words of this six-minute video screening. Johanna’s actors are ordinary people, in this case, children and instructors from a music centre near Zagreb, the music is actually the rehearsal session and the image, our eyes. It is by chance that we are there, sitting in the chair or standing in silence, without disturbing. Thus I invite you to a short break from chaos, turmoil or agitation, to learn how to look at the world differently, to search for the things beyond the obvious, to see those small gestures or details which reveal to us the reality in a more private and human way.
