Two exhibitions will be open in mid-June under the title Glass and Light—150 Years of the Glassmaking School in Kamenický Šenov. They focus on the history of the Secondary Glassmaking School in Kamenický Šenov and are held on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the founding of this school, which is the oldest of its kind in the world. They will commemorate all stages of its development with emphasis on the period after the Second World War. The exhibitions will feature works by the most prominent personalities affiliated with the history as well as the present of the school such as O. Lippert, R. Roubíček, V. Kopecký, V. Šotola, V. Jelínek, L. Oliva, P. Werner, J. Šuhájek, I. Rozsypal, I. Mareš, V. Klein, F. Janák and many others, including the youngest generation. The anniversary of the school’s founding has been put on the 2006—2007 calendar by UNESCO.

The exhibitions will take place at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague from 15 June to 17 September 2006 and at the Design Center of the Czech Republic from 15 June to 16 August 2006.
