8 December 2009 - 5 January 2010 Everness exhibition at Gallery 212, presents the works from the latest cycle of Nikola Žigon. Paintings express the artist's standpoint on the moving threshold of matter and color. The tangle of lines, the spatial motion of the plane, the interplay of variously coloured surfaces and refined coordination of space and interspaces, are determine by emotions. A lyrical condition of the soul and artistic dilemmas are transformed into a picture - a pictural trace, which is nothing else but a kind of psychogram. “The creator of these canvases managed to get rid of all the trinkets of the worn-out art poetics and bring the painting to its very essence, to whiteness and white patina, through which, like a gentle leitmotif, like the sound of a violin, there runs a refined drawing line, presenting nothing but the seismography of his sensitivity.†Momo Kapor from the catalog Nikola Žigon was born in 1958 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He graduated in 1991, Belgrade University, Faculty of Art, painting department, class of Professor Moma Antonović.
