Belgrade, Apr 7 – Apr 20, 2008 Zvono Gallery is announcing the opening of the solo exhibition of sculptures of Danijela Mrsulja. Simple, geometrical forms of Mrsulja's works derive from the artist's thoughts about the complexity of the world, but they are also a product of her very personal relationship with the material (white plaster), expressed through prolonged, repetitive, almost mantra-like processes of shaping, grinding and polishing. Her works suggest the ancient purity of natural forms; they are assembled in compositions without any narration, powerful in their fullness. Danijela Mrsulja is this year's laureate of the Herceg Novi Winter Salon Prize in Montenegro, her native country.
