The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design, Oslo

In the postmodern world, the concept of sculpture has been expanded. The notion of "pure form" has been profoundly challenged. This exhibition shows works from the past 40 years, which reassess traditional approaches to sculptural form and content. The artistic strategies vary from using low materials and expressions of the everyday all the way to purely conceptual sculptural approaches.

The exhibition includes works by amongst others Kristina Bræin, Dagmar Demming, Jan Freuchen, Isa Genzken, Jon Gundersen, Wade Guyton, Inghild Karlsen, Imi Knoebel, Jannis Kounellis, Egil Martin Kurdøl, Louise Lawler, Kamin Lertchaipraset, Sol LeWitt, Camilla Løw, Helen Mirra, Michael O'Donnell, Eva Rothschild, Reiner Ruthenbeck, Richard Serra, Robert Smithson, Kelley Walker, Franz West, Camilla Wærenskjold and Snorre Ytterstad.

The exhibition is curated by The National Museum's curators Andrea Kroksnes and Randi Godø.
