Vilnius, 11.12.2009 - 14.02.2010. It is an international collaboration project that is a partnership between five institutions, the British Film Institute, London (BFI) ; Muzeum Sztuki, Lodz; Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, Tel Aviv; Hartware MedienKunstVerein, Dortmund (HMKV); the Contemporary Art Centre, Vilnius (CAC); the Goethe Institut, Warsaw is the commissioning and coordinating office for the project. The exhibition presents four new specially commissioned films on the topic of architecture, monuments, and memory, by well-known artists Yael Bartana from Israel (whose film is about Lithuanian/Polish history), German artist Marcel Odenbach (making a work about a famous Polish monument), Deimantas Narkevicius (who makes a film about the DDR) and Polish artist Miroslav Balka (who makes a work about Israel/Palestine). These particular national histories are especially topical in recent Lithuanian cultural debates. __________________________ Contemporary Art Centre Vokieciu 2 LT- 01130 Vilnius Lithuania Phone: +370 5 2121945 (CAC ticket office) +370 5 2608960 (CAC program coordinators) +370 687 85713 (CAC press and promotions) Fax: +370 5 2623954 www.cac.lt |
