The Third Balkan Dance Platform Festival of Modern Dance organized by Lokomotiva Center for New Initiatives in Art and Culture will be held in Skopje on 3-6 November. Seventeen dances produced by Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Serbia and Montenegro, Romania, Turkey and Macedonia will present new trends in modern dance. They will perform on the two stages of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet House, and at Cifte Amam and Museum of Contemporary Art. Balkan Dance Platform is a biennial for modern dance the aim of which is to develop and improve cultural dialogue in the region and elsewhere and to open room for innovative modern dance productions by Balkan authors. The first two festivals were held in Sofia and Bucharest. The festival will feature physical performance “Lilly Handel†choreographed by Ivo Damcev of Bulgaria, conceptual modern ballet “Flashdance†choreographed by Nikolina Pristas, performance of Croatian Bed Co and “Hermaphrodite†choreographed by Greek Apostolia Popamadaki. Choreographies from Serbia and Montenegro, Turkey and Macedonia will also be presented. |
