September 8-10, 2005 Siroki Brijeg, Bosnia and Herzegovina. ''Dani Filma'' in Široki Brijeg is adorned by a unique atmosphere - a mixture of relaxation, fun, rhythm and film. Because of this, the festival has become a pet, or a love, of all people in the movie industry and their public. Those who only once take in the scent of the Mediterranean in this town of film, always come back. In one word, Široki Brijeg is cool. During the film festival even those people who don't exactly have a lot of money in their pockets can have a great time. Entrance to all of the shows are free, beer is poured at no cost in the corridor of the theatre, and following the shows one can enjoy all night dancing to the tunes and rhythms of urban music. The festival is a precursor to new relations in the world of culture. There is no elitism, no VIP lounges, nor any types of priveleges for anyone. In the past four years we have succeeded in creating an atmosphere in which no one feels like an outsider, less important or belittled. Everyone is treated equally. Along with the competative aspect, the festival this year will also consist of the viewing of some other projects. There will be other Croatian and Bosnian -Herzegovinian documentary works, as well as short and long motion pictures, retrospectives, serials, amateur works by members of the local film industry. The festival selector Zoran Tadić made his choice of the films that are to become part of the official competition programme of the 6th Dani filma in Široki Brijeg. Out of 45 film submissions that were received from 11 countries, Tadić selected 21 films. The authors are coming from eight countries: Spain, Greece, Lebanon, Italy, Turkey, Serbia and Montenegro, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Official site: www.danifilma.com" |
