On Saturday 22nd October 2005 The National Museum of Photography, Film & Television (in conjunction with The Association for Research in Popular Fictions at John Moores University and ITV Yorkshire) is convening a one-day conference to celebrate 50 years of Independent Television.
The keynote speakers is to be David Liddiment, Director of Programmes at the ITV Network from 1997 to 2002.

There will also be a wide variety of presentations on the history of ITV, covering genres such as drama, factual, regional, advertising and children's programmes. Anyone with an interest in the history of British television is very welcome to attend.
The cost will be £50 (£30 unwaged) including lunch and other refreshments, tour of Insight and evening reception.
